Rajaji Home for the aged is a fully residential home for the poor and destitute male senior citizens, recently accomodated female senior citizens since 2024. It was started in the year 1956 under the aegis of The Guild of Service, Madurai District Branch
The Home for Aged was started during this year on 14-03-1956, after a thorough detailed actions by the committee members. The total cost budgeted for the Home is 15 rupees
The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Shri Rajaji visited the Home on 25-07-1957
Government assigned 1.5 Acres of land for the Home G.O dated 29-11-1960
President of India Shri V.V. Giri visited Home for the Silver Jubilee Celebrations
Help Age India contributed rupees Seven Hundred Thousand for construction of new building.
The New building for the Home was constructed and inaugurated on 08-06-1997 by Tamilnadu Assembly speaker Shri PTR Palanivel Rajan
